  Lovely Inn, our room was at the back of building in its own block, with doors overlooking the courtyard. Room seemed newly refurbished, carpets full and plush, bed was a little softed than I usually like but slept like a dream. Bathroom had bath with shower, very nice and easy to use, lots of hot water. Our room had tv, iron, hairdryer and a fan, and wifi was included. The included breakfast was very tasty and cooked to order, tea/coffee and juices all as much as you like, and cereals were also available. Only found hotel by luck, but if ever passing through area again will be looking to stay here

  This totally exceeded expectations. The smell of firewood in the air was beautiful. The room was really modern, with a curved deep bath and glass shower door...better than a curtain! And powerful over-shower. Generally very warm, cosy, comfortable, quiet, the furniture, decor, bed and plumped bedding was gorgeous and the carpet was the thickest carpet ever. Everything we needed from proper ironing board and iron, hair dryer, to the toiletries and even bottled water. Simply Lush. Great price. Fresh cooked breakfast to order. Lovely pub too. Really happy.

  Have been to the Angel 3 times. The first time was very good and was quite a few years ago, only positive things to say. But the last two times, in the last two years, quite poor. The ribs I had were really overdone and my partner's chicken was very dry, and the variety of beers were pretty poor. Being an Ale drinker, there was nothing really. The third time was a family meal, my steak was ok but chips and sides were small portions. My partner's and families food, they just said negative things about, again the portion size and quality. And then the price you pay for it, is way over priced. I appreciate it was supposed to be al a carte style and you normally pay more for that, but it just wasn't great value for money. It's a shame, the Angel started out so well, but now it's gone down hill. Hopefully something drastic changes there to make me want to return, but I know the feeling is mutual among my family when we say we probably won't be returning any time soon.

  highly disappointing. Table booked at 1230, was sat down promptly but from start to finish it took over two hours from sitting down to leaving. It took almost half an hour from finishing the main course to taking the order for desert. The staff seemed more interested in serving a table further down who had champagne at the table. We had to go over to ask the staff to take the order for dessert, we almost gave up in the end. When we came to pay the person taking payment didn't know what we had had. We definitely won't be going to this pub again.
